Meet Dr. Treistman

Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Dr. Terry Treistman developed an interest in Dentistry at a very young age. He was greatly influenced by an uncle who was a periodontist and also by several close family friends who were practicing dentists. His passion for the Dental Field grew as he spent time shadowing and observing several  dentists and specialists throughout his high school years. 

Now in practice for over 30 years in the Katy/ West Houston area, Dr. Treistman has worked in all facets of dentistry. A consultation with him always involves achievable goal setting.  He never wants to overpromise and underdeliver. He believes that every patient is an individual and treats him accordingly. “Sometimes it is a balancing act between what the patient desires and what is actually feasible,” he believes. “Communication is key. Only the basics are learned in Dental School. The ability to develop interpersonal communication skills requires  experience and takes years to evolve.” Even now, every time a dental case is completed, Dr. Treistman feels a of great sense of accomplishment. “Nothing brings me greater satisfaction than being able to give someone back their smile.”

Over the years, Dr. Treistman has seen many of the same families and has established personal, long-term relationships with them. He has enjoyed watching  his patients become adults, finish their education, marry and start  families of their own. In fact, he is now beginning to see some third generation patients. “I feel a great sense of pride when patients that I have known since childhood feel that they can entrust their children with our practice,” he said. As much as he  loves watching his young patients mature, experiencing the loss of some of his older patients has been extremely hard for him. According to Dr. Treistman, “It’s like losing a family member. Often, the remaining spouse will continue coming to see us, and  our goal is to make them feel as  comfortable as possible.”

Dr. Treistman is a long time Cinco Ranch resident. Both of his daughters attended Cinco Ranch High School.  In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, exploring nature trails, bicycling, traveling and cruising to different locales. He also enjoys spending time with his wife of 30 years Esther, his two adult daughters Rachel and Angelica, and his three grandchildren Eden, Jonah and Mara. Dr. Treistman also has two adorable dogs, a  Shitzu named Zoe and a Lhasa-mix named Coco Chanel.
